TaKE Center is an outpatient rehabilitation facility. It is our goal to improve the lives of people with various disabilities, including both physical and cognitive challenges, and injuries.
TaKE Center is very unique in that it provides physical therapy with the use of a horse. As part of our treatment process we use a number of different therapies.
Hippotherapy at TaKE Center is an equine assisted physical therapy program led by Terri K. Long, MPT. Mrs. Long is a licensed professional with over 25 years of experience in this therapeutic area. By putting the patient on the horse, the horse’s movement is transferred to the patient, which helps improve strength, posture, balance, gait and much more.
In addition to the physical therapy, we also offer a Therapeutic Riding Program. These are horseback riding lessons that are recreational in nature, adapted for individuals with disabilities.
Please visit our Services page for more details on our offerings!
We are so thankful for the riders who inspire us and for our dedicated, amazing volunteers!
RIDERS: As the weather gets colder, our riding program (that takes place outdoors) schedule changes. Please contact us for availability of openings.
VOLUNTEERS: Our volunteer needs change during the colder months, as the program slows down. However, we welcome new volunteers for the spring for the 2017 riding season. Interested in learning more about volunteering at TaKE Center? Please be sure to check out our volunteer pages!
